2025-11-03 16:27:27 +0000 UTCIf you need Tanahashi recommendations, I have a real sleeper hit for you. Tanahashi vs Suwama AJPW Champions Carnival Final 2008. Tana heels it up as the invader from New Japan, not like in this match, where he is the heel because Ishii is over, actual cocky heel stuff. Also its a great introduction to All Japans Ace of the 2010s, Suwama.

2025-11-02 14:18:31 +0000 UTC- Tanahashi might be my favorite wrestler of all time, so if you need a Tanahashi watchlist I'll get you one pronto - This was Ishiis kinda breakout match. At this point he was just a pretty cool lower card journeyman but this one made him. Absolutely fantastic match. - Even though Tanahashi is the ultimate babyface ace, he's never one to shy away from playing heel in a match if he knows the fans are on the opponents side. He can be such a fantastic asshole. - Kayfabe wise Ishii was never a main event guy, but he's always been the perfect midcard journeyman. He can make anyone look good, he can give you a 5 star match on any day ending with y. If you need to give your main eventers a shock loss in a tournament he's your guy. If you need a challenger of the month for whatever title, throw him in there. He's the perfect wrestler for basically any roster. - Tanahashi invented the slingblade btw, it's his move. So, if you see Balor or Penta do it just know they stole it from him lol.
