What's to come...

Boy, the end of the month sure does sneak up on you (not unlike a certain bun...). Next week's update is mostly wrapped up and I'll give you a full devlog when it releases.

What I will tell you now though, is that it includes the last two 'stalk' scenes for the Halfway. Although I do intend to add further story content this will complete the 'structure' of the first stage of the game (unlike with the 'prowl' scenes I'm only adding one same-size event per room as, at this point, players are probably keen to get out of the house and start exploring).

That has me thinking about how to go about unlocking/creating the rest of the world. It is my intention that every location will have, at the least, a job or activity as well as a set of hunting scenes. The problem is though, this will make building the space for you to roam around in not just slow, but piecemeal in its availability.

As such, while I intend to stick with my focus on animation for the full product,  the first instances of new areas will be static renders (with minimal writing). This will let me quickly build out the structure, and then return to backfill with fully fleshed scenes. As well as getting you what you need for a minimally viable playable game upfront, this will also let me continue to advance storylines in the new areas rather than letting everything grind to a halt while I build up dozens of new hunting scenes.
