Carl Weathers was such a goldmine as a casting choice. To find a great actor with an incredible physique, and natural athletic ability. Even though Apollo loses by script it's obvious Weathers outclasses Stallone in strength, speed and form. In his younger days he was active in not only boxing, but also gymnastics, judo, soccer, wrestling and even had a brief career in pro football, playing 1 season each in the NFL and CFL before becoming a full time actor.

2024-04-27 00:21:06 +0000 UTCMad, that was Sly's younger brother Frank Stallone singing those acapella tunes with his group Valentine. He also provided the song "Take You Back" from the first Rocky film. In 1983 Sly wrote and directed a sequel to Saturday Night Fever called Stayin' Alive starring John Travolta and Cynthia Rhodes (from Dirty Dancing) Frank had a song featured in the film called "Far From Over". It became a Top 10 hit and has been used as intro music for various sports programs (wrestling, nascar) and has been featured in films and tv shows. Frank has done some amateur boxing, and had some acting roles too.. he had a small role in Tombstone...he got stabbed by Doc Holliday!
