Btw, all the special effects and backgrounds in the Final Cut are the same as the theatrical cut. The visuals have just been digitally remastered and brightened.

2024-01-02 20:27:05 +0000 UTCHi, new subscriber. There seem to be multiple opinions about the version of Blade Runner to watch. I recommend not watching the theatrical cut because it has narration that was forced upon Ridley Scott by the studio heads (who felt the film was too confusing). But in my view, the voiceover totally disrupts the flow of the film. For that reason alone, I think both the 1992 Director's Cut and the Final Cut (2007) are far superior. (However, only the Final Cut is available for streaming.) The visuals of the theatrical cut are also fairly grainy and dark (and not in a good, film-noirish way). So I recommend The Final Cut. (As for the book, it's excellent. But I recommend the film first b/c of spoilers. I'd prefer to see your pure unspoiled reaction to the film. Just my opinion.)

2024-01-01 20:25:01 +0000 UTCIf you watch Blade Runner I personally recommend either reading the book first (Do androids dream of electric sheep), or watching the International Theatrical Cut of the film as it's a more accessible presentation of the story despite its flaws
