12 Angry Men (1957) Full Length REACTION!

Comments

Women could serve on juries in New York, where 12 ANGRY MEN takes place, starting in 1937. It wasn’t until 1957, when the movie came out, that women could serve on federal juries.

Jason Chirevas

12 Angry Men was written in the early 50's. At the time, women were not allowed to be on juries.. The original production for TV in 1954 is out there on the internet, Two of the actors from the TV production were also in the movie. Jurors #9 and 11. A re-make from 1997 staring Jack Lemon in the Fonda role and as juror #3 was played by George C. Scott. It is very good as well.

Mike McLaughlin

Amazing movie, excellent review. Saw this movie on TV when I was a child, absolutely loved it then and still do too. It's done mostly in one room, you can feel the sweltering heat from the atmosphere which just added to the anger of the people locked up in this small room. If you want a couple more court room movies, To Kill a Mockingbird and A Time to Kill. I saw the first one when I was a child too, and A Time to Kill as a teen in the movie theater. I thought the second was a spiritual successor to the first one.
