UPDATE: I'm told (7 a.m. Eastern, May 7) that there is a hardware issue on the hosting server and that is being worked on. Fingers crossed!
LATEST UPDATE (9 a.m. Eastern, May 7): Hosting service informs me that my account has been migrated to a new server and the site should be operating normally. Hopefully this ends the present incident. Thanks again for all the support and info—hearing from people when the site's down is oddly reassuring... :)
