Tae Sangs mother was captured after she hid him in the small room under the floorboards. the old lady who runs the pawn shop with him was captured with Tae Sang's mother. but she lied to Tae Sang in that scene where as a little boy he asked her if she knew his mother. She did know his mother and they were captured together. you will see the rest in the next episode as I don't want to spoil it.
