So the story in the intro of this video is correct in the sense that someone did once do me a kindness and asked for a video on this game and that was a long, long time ago. I never forgot. This game lived rent free in my head for years.
Every October, I thought "this is going to be the year" and something usually prevented it. I fought with a lot of technical issues at the time but never forgot about geist (stylized with no capitalization, for reasons) and a few months ago I returned to it with renewed vigor, hoping to finally capture gameplay for a Halloween episode. A mix of a faster PC and a more updated version of Dolphin resulted in me being able to play the whole thing through without a hint of the weird graphical issues I was originally seeing.
I had a lot of fun with this even when it wasn't running well or looking pretty. It's not often that I touch a console game and I was happy to do something a little different this time around. I hope you all enjoy it! It was a blast to play the game and make the video.

P.S. In hindsight, problems with QTEs may be linked to me overclocking by 20% to get better performance out of the game, if that kind of thing is tied to the framerate, which is entirely possible. Also, no hate on F.E.A.R. 2, I just wanted to do a joke about the ending.
P.P.S. I said I was tired of Starfield discourse in the last S.T.A.L.K.E.R. episode. This has been retconned for the sake of jokes.

Definitely a hidden gem from what I've seen in this. I'm glad you got the chance to enjoy it amid the frozen hellscape you're currently dealing with, and wish you the best. Certainly hoping to see more wild picks like this again.

One Christmas, we were so desperate for new games, that we bought this game (which was in a bargain bin) and - even though it wasn't great - it still has a special place in my heart. I don't know what the publishing contract between Nintendo and Nspace, but - no joke - a few years back, I went to steam and found a copy of this game and bought it on the spot for around 5$ (what steam said was the "full price") I checked again and it no longer seems to be listed - so I either imagined it OR have a legal copy of this game on pc somewhere. I looked on google and there are no posts about this and nobody even noticed it was there - let alone that it is now gone. I don't know if the contract Nintendo signed allowed it to be published elsewhere or if there was bad blood was between Nspace and the big N All I know is that Nintendo famously DID NOT like any of the game they showed off to Shigeru Miyamoto so they stopped giving it a proper marketing push

Under certain parameters related to elevated neurotransmitter levels, this can happen. In the last year, I have pulled it off 3 times. Each time, I was momentarily a fraction of myself, like an animal, and was there when the consciousness came back and started speaking to me. It's like the autopilot button breaks in the on position. It was pretty wild!

I suppose one game that's somewhat similar in that it's First-Person and it lets you take control of things to get around and solve puzzles is Ctrl Alt Ego. If you get to making a F.E.A.R. 2 video, you'll have to come up with a new clever title, since you already used "Point Man Insertion" for the first game's video.

I played this briefly long ago and it was always something I meant to go back to, but as the madness has taken my mind the last year or so, that probably won't happen. There really aren't enough games involving playing as ghosts that possess things. It's such a fertile idea.

Never did beat it first go around. Got to the Assassination Simulation stuff, but never bothered to go further. Gonna retry it now, I think.

I wasn’t allowed to play M rated games, but I rented it and my parents were like “well we can’t get a refund so fuck it” and let me play it. Didn’t get to the spectral sex pest part, but I think that might have made them reconsider.
