This video is cursed. Right before the edit was done, my PC nuked itself from some kind of incomprehensible driver conflict or registry corruption, which required a re-install of Windows and formatting the C Drive.
I didn't lose anything important because the video itself (the project files, game capture, etc) were all on different drives. It set me back about 48 hours. Still pretty inconvenient. Be warned: Extreme ROTT hates you, and it hates me, and it hates all living things indiscriminately. But it paves the way for me to do a video on the remake, which is more interesting for all the history behind it and the way it was the canary in the coal mine for the retro FPS revival. A janky, misshapen canary. It's not up next. I think I'm gonna do Alien World Order next.

It took all of my spare time for like a month and a whole lot of savescumming because I wasn't even good at video games when I was 14 (and I was probably playing as Lorelei so I think I Mercury Mode'd the impossible part). It's been about 12 years since, and I don't think I've attempted it again even once, but I intend to someday.

Even if I never see myself playing this, it has that Expansion spirit of being one part more content, three parts weird experimentation. For better and worse, it has some cool ideas unique to it. Imagine trying to platform on 2D walls in the remake
