Quake 2 is a punishingly boring game to talk about and the constant "Pro Quake 2" posts get to stop now because doing a Pro episode on Quake 2 would be like doing a mukbang video on 10 gallons of oatmeal. I'm looking forward to the DOS trash I have lined up for the next video because at least I get to feel something again.

Or if you want one of those fancy colored names that everyone gets now if they want. The credits in the video are usually a couple of days behind the actual patron list.

I can't stand the new health symbol. I understand that the red cross association are a bunch of prudish boomers but using a blue symbol for ambulances isn't a good replacement.

I've read about your...not disdain, but disinterest toward Q2, a game which defined a huge chunk of my childhood and I was expecting something that was just bashing toward a game that didn't deserve it, but I should know better. Intelligent (and funny) videos like this are why you are the only video creator I pledge to on Patreon. This was a well-thought out critique that made a ton of sense. This was the moment a company lost their "soul". And I remember Q2's launch being more than a little messy, and yet devoured by the faithful quite blindly.

Then I pointed out that when i kneecap someone in Goldeneye, they limp, which seemed a bit more useful in terms of feedback and presentation.. I still prefer Goldeneye to Quake 2 to this day. Hell, if I could find two decent controllers I'd play it again with twin controllers again, too.

I also remember trying to justify my love for the game to my friends by exaggerating about the technical capabilities it offered in terms of AI, graphics and that gimmick where the enemies would look damaged at half health (I convinced my buddies who didn't have the PC hardware to run the game that it recorded every bullet hit on an enemy and displayed it on the models).

I was surprised to get a few agreeing comments, now I'm happy to hear you feel similar. Hard disagree that Rage is worse, though. Also did Rage video. It's shit and weird and dull, but at least it has ideas, not just doing the same ol' shit, just worse.
