I think the fact that global voting becomes a "popularity contest" is actually the appeal of it to someone like Bang PD who is going to profit off of the groups success. It makes sense to fill the group with people who already have an established fanbase that is going to support them. There's no question about talent at this point, they're all extremely talented in their respective ways and some may excel at certain things more than others, but these 10 guys are all capable of doing whatever they need to do. Because of that fact I think it's genius to see which members will bring the most support to the new group!
