It's so well done, one of my favourite openings/montages. Yea so crazy that Gus kept him like that and just tormented him for the whole of Breaking Bad. Really gives those scenes some extra, sinister context ha. I did notice this while editing actually that Jimmy's PPD was up! Ah okay lol, I was really trying to figure that song out while it was playing but couldn't quite work it out. I was thinking that too while editing, seems extremely crazy that just because he got done for pickpocketing before he would be treated way more harshly then some of those other crimes...seems absurd. Honestly have no idea what she is going to do!

The intro to this episode is so good. Really artfully shows how they do their own thing and how they gradually, over the 8 months or so that it spans, drift apart from each other. It's wild to know that Gus kept Hector crippled, just well enough to witness his plan but unable to do anything about it. We saw at the end of the intro that Jimmy's PPD was completed, meaning he isn't any longer under threat of prosecution for breaching its terms. The song they used for the construction crew montage is called Big Rock Candy Mountain. They wanted to use it in Breaking Bad but couldn't find the right place for it. It's a bit of an inside joke because they "meth" they make in the lab is actually rock candy. It's maybe the only time in BCS I thought the use of a song was a bit forced, and it didn't quite fit the scene, but it wasn't that bad aha. The conversation between Kim and the ADA is interesting. It's curious how the law seems to put more emphasis on re-offending than it does the actual brutality of a crime. Someone can be charged with the same thing, but a more serious version of it, yet receive a lesser sentence than someone else because it was their first offence. Sounds like a poor system of applying justice to me. But yeah, Jimmy's got that "scumbag" reputation now (or, again) and, worried that he'll make things worse for himself she decides to help him out. Seems she has a scheme of her own in mind :P
