We had a great 2 Thanksgivings :) Iwas honored to make the turkey for the lunch with my side of the family. We then played a game and watched Christmas Vacation, and video chatted with my Niece and her husband up in Indiana. Then for supper we had dinner with my husband's family and I brought a pumpkin pie dump cake for dessert. And we ate, and played BINGO, and watched Polar Express.

Traditional turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Watched NFL football on TV. Here in the US, traditionally every year there are a slate of NFL games on Thanksgiving Day and a slate of NBA games on Christmas Day!

2024-11-29 13:53:00 +0000 UTCThings went well! Turkey (cooked slow at 250 deg F for 20 min per pound, add extra 30-45 minutes if stuffed) and stuffing (bagged stuffing mix dressed up with apples, sausage, onions, & cranberries) came out well. Took about 6 hr, though slow cooking & stuffing keeps the bird moist. My double-batch pumpkin pie also didn't disappoint. We just had the in-laws over, though today we head out for my dad's extended family get-together. He's the 4th of 5 kids, and my sister & I have 10 cousins on that side, most of whom have kids, so we basically take over a hotel conference room & lobby for the day with 30-40 people.. Food is "pot luck" style where everyone brings a side, snack, or dessert, and we order a bulk main from somewhere. After supper we do our annual family Christmas gift exchange - in the form of a dice game that determines if you open a gift, can steal one already open, or get passed over until the next turn. All gifts must start with a letter determined at the previous year's event - this year it's "U." Scored an ultrasonic cleaner off Amazon to bring myself, though some form of alcohol is always popular too. 😉 Hope things are well over there, and your own Thanksgiving meal went well! (Haven't gotten to watch the video yet)
