In an art lyceum at age 11-13 we were given a homework to do 50 sketches a week from life - of objects, landscapes, people, etc. Drawing objects was easy - your room interior and all the stuff inside like shoes and books and pillows, but it was much harder to find a person to draw whoโs willing to sit still for some time, so I was doing a lot of autoportraits - after all, all you need is just a mirror to do that.
I got really used to draw myself at that time, and it really helped to practice head and face structure, lighting and rendering, so from time to time I do it even now.
