Ms Hay is a prosecutor. She not necessarily meant to be impartial. Howard was there as Chuck's representative, but Ms Hay is effectively working for him on behalf of the State. You guys are of course further ahead but I thought I'd fill in a couple of the timelines for you that make things clearer and more interesting: - 1989 Gus & Max meet with the Dons Eladio, Salamanca and Bolsa. Max dies. Gus is put to work for the cartel under Bolsa, establishing his Pollos distribution system. - 1999 The flashback for this episode. Gus is working for the cartel. Hector is being made to feel inferior by Gus' stronger business acumen. I'm not sure if you have picked up on it, but Max was possibly more than a simple business partner for Gus. In the 1989 flashback Hector pees in the pool and says Gus & Max probably like what they see. He also comments on how they clearly aren't actual brothers. In this episode he refers to "Chicken brothers" as "Butt brothers" (it's better in spanish lol). So maybe he just plainly doesn't like him for that... Here's the Chuck timeline. It's very subtle but after a number of rewatches I've picked up on these things. In S2E10 when Chuck is in the hospital with his mum we see he's wearing his wedding ring, suggesting he was still with Rebecca at this point. In S1E10 Jimmy tells Marco that his mother died about 3 years ago so we can infer Chuck was still married 3 years ago. In S1E8 when Jimmy passes the bar, Chuck is not wearing a wedding ring, so Rebecca must've left him by this point. In S1E5 we learn that Chuck left the office 18 months prior. so Jimmy passing the bar & Rebecca leaving him had to both be between 1.5 - 3 years ago. So within about a year and a half, Chuck lost his mum, his wife left him and then his conman brother becomes a lawyer. To me that could very well explain what caused his brain to snap and develop his "allergy" to electricity. Be curious to know your thoughts on it. Though I may find out as I go through the episodes you've already watched :P

Oh I didn't notice that either, Dr Pepper is the king of drinks. Ah nice, yea that's cool. Yea totally makes sense the more I thought about it after. (I think the line about him coming to visit just threw me off a bit) but damn does it show their beef real well. We may have watched it yesterday and all I will say is DAMN. It was very very good.

I have a newfound respect for Hector after this episode. I didn't originally notice that he filled his cup with Dr Pepper while waiting for Gus. I can't hate on a fellow DP drinker. I also loved that when Gus is telling the people at the fire department that he hopes to never need their services, he gets a phone call about a metaphorical fire that needs to be put out. I don't think it's a spoiler to tell you that the opening scene takes place after Gus' partner was killed. It's clear that he's been working for them long enough to build up a strong distribution network, and is essentially Bolsa's man in the North already. I think the scene was just to establish how long Hector has been jealous of Gus and the respect he receives from the bosses. I don't usually like hyping up episodes ahead of time, but the next episode is the highest rated episode of the season, and the #5 highest rated episode of the entire series, with a 9.7 on IMDB. It's definitely one I've been looking forward to.
