Thank you so much & American Trip!?

We wanted to say thank you to everyone who is a Patreon. We know we haven't been active on here as much as we would like in terms of videos but that will improve. Patreon helps pay for our food shops in the month and a little more towards equipment we may need for videos. It really omits that stress so thank you.

We also want to get your thoughts on a potential american trip, We 100% want to come but the trip is going to costing close to £10,000 (Flights,Hotel, Car Rental, Events, Food Etc.) for 10 days which was a big surprise to us in the near future would be impossible for us to do. So 2025 is when we are looking and Texas seems to be the place we are going to come :D.

It was mentioned in the comments a few times about a Gofundme as other reactors has apparently done this before. What do you think about that? It would mean we would be able to come in 2024 if a certain amount was raised but we also don't want to take the mickey and are happy to try and fund ourselves for 2025. We would record the whole trip and do a few meet ups if people wanted.

Maybe not this first trip, but if you ever get the chance, try a driving trip so you can see more of the state than just the cities. By the way, you'll be entering what Texas Monthly magazine calls "the golden age of Texas barbecue." Good barbecue can be found all across the state. https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/the-list-the-top-50-barbecue-joints-in-texas/

I love the hill country above Austin. The Oasis is beautiful and gives you a Mediterranean feel. Lots of famous people living up there. Matthew McConaughey lives there, I think. Alright alright alright. lol

I just noticed this question. So sorry. It’s always pretty hot in Texas. That being said I usually go out in March and October. Sometimes it’s pretty chilly and sometimes it’s shorts and t-shirt weather. I laugh that I have to pack for warm and cold weather. Usually a jacket and at least one pair of long pants and a long sleeved shirt gets me through. If not, I’ll hit a thrift shop.

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

Texas is much better in the springtime. If you go in spring, I strongly suggest you check out the hill country around Fredericksburg for beautiful hill country wildflowers.

Michael Gehrman

Absolutely. Enough of Texas already. All of America is not Texas, Florida, and California. 3000 miles of great real America is always ignored, especially the Midwest and Chicago.

Michael Gehrman

You asked above about the weather in Texas in April, the best answer I can give you is that it is variable, and depends on the part of Texas you are in. A large part of western Texas (about the west most third of the state) is a hilly high desert categorized by wide temperature swings between day and night, in this region I have seen highs in the 80's (27-31C) and overnight lows as low as 13F (-10C) all in the same week in mid April. Central and eastern Texas tends to be more mild, typical mid April weather will see overnight lows in the 50's F (10-15C), and daytime highs in the 70's F (21-26C), though there is always the chance of a late season cold front bringing freezing weather for a day or two. April is typically near the end of the winter weather pattern which means cool / cold fronts passing through the area every 7 to 10 days with a circa 10-15 degree F warming trend between each cold front. April is also often a fairly rainy month most years in central Texas, with heavier rainfall seen in eastern Texas and near the gulf coast. Dense fog is also often common in coastal Texas (within 75 miles of the gulf of Mexico) in this season, often lasting until about noon, sometimes lasting well into the afternoon, though this is more common in March.

April looks like the only ine going in is at the ft worth stockyards, they are year round every Fri and Sat night. June-August, the rodeo in Mesquite is the place to go. It is near Dallas. Both of these are indoors so you won't get rained on, and the temperature is great. Those are the 2 I'd recommend depending on when you come visit

You can just call me Lisa from South Carolina. I’m a member of a couple of political Patreons, so it might not translate well on your channel. Lol

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

Thank you so much. We are so grateful. We will be shouting out all those that have donated tomorrow on our live stream, so look out for your special mention ❤️

James Beesley

I just donated. Hope it helps. ❤️

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

It sounds lovely! He went golfing but I know he enjoyed it when they went out and about. Especially the beaches!!

James Beesley

Where is the best rodeo in April time?

James Beesley

Awww, thank you for responding. I live in the upper part of the state and work for a large university. We do have a diverse geography here. Mountains and beaches. I love it.

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

Thank you for this!

James Beesley

Thank you so much for the support over the years! Hanks for the tips, we will definitely use this to help us when we plan!

James Beesley

Thank you for the support! How hot is Texas in the spring time? I think we’re looking at April :)

James Beesley

My dad went to South Carolina and he loved it!

James Beesley

Sorry one more thing. Can you post a link to your gofundme? I would like to help with your trip. 🫶

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

Also Charleston SC is probably one of my favorite places in the US. Of course I live in South Carolina, so I’m a little partial to it. Lots of history and amazing food too.

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

I just joined your channel. I love your videos and little Archie is adorable. My daughter lives near Austin Texas and I visit at least twice a year. It it extremely hot there, so be prepared. They had 60 days straight over 100 degrees f (38 c) this summer. The food is amazing. Torchy’s Taco is my go to place when I go. Soooo good.

Southern Flaming Liberal (aka Lisa)

I am new to your Patreon, though I have been a long time viewer (since before Millie was a regular on the channel), and have been participating from time to time in your live videos, and sending money through payal for baby / trip expenses. With that said here is a bit of advice on travel to Texas (I live in Louisiana, about 15 miles from the Texas state line). Some of this may repeat stuff I have posted in the comments on Youtube, first I am with most of the rest, Don't come to Texas June-September, it will be hot and you will be miserable. A few things you might try to do to save money, 1, stay at mid range hotels, and stay outside of the cities, finding a decent motel in Texas, even in the cities can be done for $100-$150 per night, sometimes even less, if you know where to look, and stat outside the city center. When renting a car price cars with Enterprise rent a car, they are generally only available away from airports, but will often deliver a car or pick you up, Enterprise mainly targets customers needing a car while their car is in the repair shop, etc. therefore few if any airport locations. If you need a hotel near the center of Houston, I can recommend Hotel Ylem for under $100 per night with free parking, and free continental breakfast, it is located near the Texas medical center, my wife and I stay there when she has a doctors appointment in the medical center, typically a few times per year. It is not fancy, but the rooms are comfortable, is in a fairly safe area, 5-10 minute walk to the NRG Center / Astrodome, my only complaint about the place is the free breakfast is a bit marginal.

There are pretty much rodeos year round here in Texas, some even inside. Other than the great food, the Texas stuff is Bucees, football, baseball,(if you come in Sept you could see both I think) rodeo, Alamo, NASA, state Capital, Dallas arboretum, Ft Worth stockyards, state Fair depending when you come, Louisiana is really close too, Shreveport is only like 3 hours from Dallas, uummm oh, the grassy knoll/place where Kennedy was shot, Waco has the Dr Pepper museum, Galveston Island has a beach and an awesome pier, San Antonio River walk, Ft Worth water gardens, on non game days you can tour the Cowboys football stadium, and so much more depending where you decide to go. Also, I have family in Austin that have a ranch and might be able to stay at one of their guest houses there. And yes August and Sept are hot usually, however, there is a lot of air conditioning, but later in Sept or Oct would be better weather wise...

Laura h

Hi y’all! October and November are usually pretty good because the weather has cooled off a little by then , plus college football is in full swing! I’m sure you’ll have fun anytime you come regardless though. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of support and I’d be happy to cover the expense of one of your BBQ /restaurant meals or other adventures !

Steve Rayburn

I'm not being critical o Wf Texas, but I'm about Texas'd out. EVERY youtuber I follow has visited Texas and the literally act as if there aren't 49 other states that are worth visiting. We have a vast variety of things to see. If you want BBQ then Memphis and Kansas City are famous for it. Kentucky has beautiful blue grass mountains and horse farms. Tennessee has the Smokey Mountains, and Gatlinburg. Arizona has the Grand Canyon, I could go on and on. We even eat gravy and biscuts and drink sweet tea here in Indiana. Please consider a different destination, I know I may be the only with this opinion. but I just wanted to share it, where ever you go, I'm so looking forward to watch little Archie grow during your videos and adventures

Tammy Courtney

For Texas, I suggest eating at Taste of Texas in Houston. Visit NASA in Houston, and go to a Houston Astros baseball game. Visit Austin and see the state capitol, and see some live music there. Visit San Antonio and see the Alamo and check out their river walk. Avoid Dallas and west Texas. The hill country around Fredericksburg is beautiful.

Michael Gehrman

All good suggestions, and include a trip to Chicago in there also! 😊👍

Michael Gehrman

Investigate GFM before opening one up. They take a large cut from what I’m told. Also if you’re coming for 10 days you might be able to hit 1-2 other states depending how deep into Texas travel you go. Louisiana or New Mexico/Arizona might be doable if willing to spend 1 day driving/sight seeing. Depending when you come a meet up would be awesome especially for us patrons

David Zenner

Top 3 things to do in Texas. 1). Fly to Mackinac Island in Michigan. :-) 2) I hear San Antonio is really cool with the River tours, the Alamo and Six Flags. 3) Go to a Texas Rangers or Astros baseball game.

Jimmy Mapes

Plus if you come in October you can visit the State Fair in Dallas which lasts 3 weeks

Matthew Wright

The Houston rodeo is around the end of February-March, I believe. If possible, I’d definitely recommend coming in the spring or fall; the summers have been above 100°F, and even in November, we’re having days that are above 80°F to give you an idea. Just want y’all to consider that when planning, since no one wants to be outside on a super hot day trying to explore a new place. 🤗

Taylor Dougherty

Hello, well there is so much to visit. But some great areas are Dallas and I Arlington where the Cowboys and Ranfers play. San Antonio and the Alamo and the Riverwalk, plus Houston with the Rodeo and of course next to Galvaston Island and the coast. If Gofundme works usenitnor maybe start a merchant line and sell that to make money as a suggestion

Matthew Wright

Hey Taylor :D We really appreciate that <3 What time of the year is the Houston Rodeo? We hopefully will have a few days in the main cities to try and do as much as possible so potentially Dallas :D

James Beesley

Come to TX! 😃 I can only speak for myself, but I use Patreon as a way to support the channel a little each month, so don’t feel bad that you’re not shooting videos out as much as you’d like; I totally understand you’re overwhelmed being new parents. 🤗 A GoFundMe is a great idea that I’m sure others would support. If/when you can come, the Houston rodeo is really something - biggest in the USA, which has huge headlining concerts. Great food. Some sort of professional game is fun. If you make it to Dallas, happy to help on a 5 star dinner for free, or a Dallas Mavericks game if they’re playing; we have great season tickets near the court. Look forward for you guys! 🫶🏼
