How important is it to have a custom Monster or Item in a One-Shot?
There are some amazing creators that are dedicated to making custom monsters and items, and I occasionally add one of my own into an adventure. How essential do you feel that kind of content is in making the adventure one that you want to run for your table? Cheers, and Happy Adventuring!

I always enjoys custom stuff, but think it's only necessary if something about it has something specific to do with the plot. Maybe if custom stuff had it's own section or pages that could be referenced.

2022-03-15 17:48:28 +0000 UTCI definitely agree that they're fun but not required. To save time, if you have an idea in mind, you can always suggest to DMs that they reskin something to save time, be it monster, item, etc.
