Trivia: Pepper is the same design as Arka when he was a hatchling, but he specifically is an animated plush Verus gives him in the story. The gifts they give each other are very strange, but come from a place of love. This plush is only 'alive' because it is technically reanimated, since Verus can reanimate anything made of 'dead' materials. This includes dolls... and puppets...
