Study sketches of Jet and Arka running on all fours :) I thought since Arka runs on all fours sometimes, maybe Jet does too, since they're both a little feral. 'What makes Jet an Earth Elemental' I asked myself, and with his wolf / dog affinity I had the answer: he probably has that kind of animalistic behavior, sort of an affinity for nature in that fierce way. He was a gladiator who had that side to him in battle after all ;)

As Arka's mentor, maybe he understands him in ways beyond swordsmanship. At first it looks funny, like, 'wow what is this old man doing in this wolf-like pose. lol'. But then it looks very strange seeing him move Really Fast on all fours like 'oh shit what IS that' which turns into 'oh FUCK' when he pulls out one or two swords or starts casting punch-augmented Earth magic.

Of course he doesn't do it all the time, but it makes for a visually interesting quirk. Also, with Celestin having raised Arka, he never had a problem with him running like that (so he never like, corrected him and told him not to do it). It's an interesting comparison seeing the people who encourage Arka and Verus' personal strengths.

It's funny to see that Verus has a type: kind of feral men. lmao
