Ravi is in sphinx form, as one of four symbols of the unknown here (the night sky, the moon, and the clouds) but also as a symbol of wisdom and the power of mental fortitude and inner strength. He guides the querant to the stars, to their innermost dreams, while Xerxes holds the reins and asserts control over his direction. The crown denotes his authority over where he is going.
The Chariot card usually has two horses or sphinxes (black and white) representing masculine and feminine energy, but here Ravi is representing both symbolic presences and more, as a nonbinary character.
