MAY 2019 Comic Status Updates!

Hi monster lovers! I'm just letting you know what to expect for this month in terms of comic uploads and projects, etc. I have also answered some questions below.

Current Projects Status Updates (approximately, may be subject to change):

- KINTSUKUROI - 

• Will be updating from May 12th - May 24th
• Finished around May 24th, sent to print around then.

- MEN+MONSTERS Volume 2 - 

• Chapter 5 will be starting updates again on May 24th
• Chapter 5 will finish by the beginning of June
• Chapter 6 will finish around June 21st and sent to print
• All pre-orders will go out as soon as the printed version arrives

- MYTHIKOS TERATOS Volume 1 -

• Uneven update schedule until MEN+MONSTERS Volume 2 is finished
• Aiming for 4 pages a week
• Full work on it will begin after June 21st, assuming it isn't done by then.

- VICTORIOUS SECRET pin-ups -

• Poll will be held soon to determine this month's theme
• Monthly pin-up(s) will be finished and posted by May 31st

- MEN PLUS MONSTERS Menagerie -

• The $400 Milestone has not been reached this month so writing and art has stopped on this project for now.

Why did MEN+MONSTERS Volume 2 take so long to finish?

Real life responsibilities & work, burnout, and the necessity of writing and drawing MEN PLUS MONSTERS Origins to give new readers a better understanding and foundation of the comics' world. KNIGHT OF ALANOC also went from a one-shot to a near-necessity for the AoB comic series, so even more care went into the story and art than previously intended. 

ACE OF BEASTS Volume 1 REDUX also needed to be written and started because too many people were confusing MEN+MONSTERS and ACE OF BEASTS with each other despite being very different stories - this necessitated a significant tone change along with new art that reflected my current skill level and a new script that had more to offer than puns and too-fast pacing. All of this took a lot of time and hard work, and was urgent enough to warrant priority over M+M Vol.2.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Why are you working on short comics / commissions when you could be working on ___?

I have many ideas I'd like to do as soon as I can - the one-shot comics (Bara Comics), with the exception of MEN PLUS MONSTERS Origins, don't tend to have as much emphasis on the story as the longform comics so continuity is not an issue and they can be completed relatively faster. 

The longform comics ACE OF BEASTS and MEN+MONSTERS require a lot of care and work, so more 'preparation time' is needed. In this way, I can make the bigger comics as good as they can be - I learned from ACE OF BEASTS First Edition that taking a little more time is better than being unhappy with the writing and tone a year past its printing.
