I've not got too much to add here as it's quite a simple video in terms of the techniques.
Finding great samples is normally the hard part. But if you want some of my favourite places to look then check out my most recent blog post. 👨💻https://www.patreon.com/posts/sample-chopping-122713616
Whilst this video focuses on sampling TrackLib, I do sample YouTube a lot as well as spotify, records & movies etc. The audio quality of streaming services has improved a lot over the last 10/15 years so don't be put off by the arguments around lossless audio vs mp3. Just get stuck in a sample away :)
After you've found the right track to sample, the key is to extract the best moments. Use trimming, in/out fades, eq & reversing to shape the audio further. ✄
The main goal here is to edit the samples so they can be chucked straight into a sampler in the DAW or easily looped. 🔁
Onto PFM now! 🏃♂️💨
Cheers everyone and have a great weekend.
