Yo, I’m back with some more production tips! This time we’re diving into crash cymbals and a few other transitional elements. It may seem like such a simple topic but there are a few tricks I use all the time I thought were worth sharing.
Processing - Reverb, Delay, RX950, High Pass Filter
RX950 - Pull down the bandwidth or filter to roll of the high frequencies till the crash fits with your drums & breaks.
ADSR - Pull in decay on crash to make it shorter.
Delay - 1/8D or 1/4D work amazingly for crashes
Reverse Crashes - Fade in and out to make a smooth crash with less of the whip back. Feed these into a Delay also
Breath Crashes - you can make your own with long reverbs & Delays on breath samples. High Pass Filter are great to make everything fit.
Slow Sine LFO to Panning - Stereo Effect
Waves Crashing - Smooth wave in and out
Phasey Crashes - Work great for Atmospheric Jungle
Big ups everyone! Looking forwards to a little break but also to coming back strong with loads of jungle content next month. 😊🚀
