Xerxes was protected from them by Ravi, and Ravi was the one who got punished for it (this is talked about in a memory by Xerxes in Volume 1 REDUX). The one with the jackal head became a bit obsessed with the two of them, which is a big no-no in the Sect since you're not supposed to form deep attachments to people.
Even so, the three High Priests are considered closest to their god, and very much blame Xerxes' (their 'perfect vessel') gentle personality on Ravi - needless to say they didn't forget about them ...
I feel like I say all this every time I see Sect-related stuff but you know I'm just super excited to start Volume 3 and finally draw all of the Secret Backstory Stuff About The Sect And Ravi And Xerxes lmao (I also want to see Osric and Ramzi struggle to understand it lol)
