FUN SWORD FACTS: Those hooked blades in their hands are Egyptian swords called khopesh! While I stylized them heavily for the sake of fantasy, the hook shape is the distinctive part - here it is sharp on both edges, while a lot of times they are only sharpened on the 'important' side ;3
You may already know this! But you may be asking why it remained an artifact of ~1300 BC and isn't some cool thing used today? Of course, it was most effectively used like the axe design it was borne from for chopping and fucking apart weak-material shields - but it's awkward shape plus it's imbalanced tip made it unwieldy, and with easier-to-make-plus-stronger swords and hard shields to defend against their relatively weak blades becoming more common, it was outclassed and eventually fell into disuse.
