Display Profiles and Optimized Settings: Download HERE

LINK TO PROFILES: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y4YkZJee2GxCuM7ox-nrpiuB0YchEWxc?usp=sharing

Unfortunately it's quite hard to find things on our Patreon page because there is no easy way to categorize stuff. So rather than posting individual pages for our ICC profiles, they can all be found and downloaded via the link above.

Note that due to panel variance, ICC profiles generated on our review units will not necessarily produce accurate results on the monitor you own. However in many instances the profile will be better than nothing, especially on wide gamut displays.

We only have ICC profiles available for monitors that we have reviewed. If we haven't tested it, there won't be a profile.

The link includes access to a folder called "Older Profiles" which includes profiles created using an older method that is less robust and may not work for all users. The primary profiles in the main folder are robust and should work across the board.

These profiles are offered without support, unfortunately we don't have the time or resources to troubleshoot why the profile isn't working with your system. We recommend using DisplayCAL Profile Loader to install the profiles on your system, which you can download here

Also:

OSD Settings - ICC profiles are best paired with OSD settings you enter into the monitor itself. We used to show these quite a bit in the reviews themselves but not as much any more. So we're providing a spreadsheet that has all that data in it. If you are looking for OSD settings for your display, this is the place. You can get access here: LINK

CCSS for DisplayCAL - CCSS files are colorimeter corrections that can be used during the DisplayCAL calibration process, if you have a supported tool. Basically, these CCSS files are created using a more accurate spectrophotometer (in this case the i1 Pro 2) and are specific to a display model. You can then calibrate that same display using a cheaper colorimeter (eg. i1Display Pro series) to a greater accuracy than using one of the default colorimeter corrections included with DisplayCAL. You won't have to guess which type of monitor panel you have, just use the specific CCSS correction for that display.

Links to these are found HERE. At this stage we only have newer monitors we've tested available but we'll be creating these for all displays moving forward.

If you don't own a colorimeter and are interested in buying/renting one for use with our CCSS files, I'd recommend the X-Rite i1Display Pro family (or Calibrite ColorChecker Pro, same thing). Not every colorimeter supports CCSS.

DisplayCAL also offer a database of user CCSS submissions here though we recommend using our CCSS files as we've verified them to work properly using the OSD settings listed.

Hello guys, any possibility to add ICC profile and recommended settings for MSI MAG 271QPX E2 you recently reviewed? That gamma curve u shown on review jumping trought 2.5 on darkest places can be really annoying on this monitor. Just got it yesterday. I bought patreon to support you and get the settings and calibrated profile for this one, but sadly it's not the case yet.

Berkel

I just bought the new LG45GS95QX-B. Any chance to have a color profile available for it on your profiles pack soon? :-) Thank you

CHRONiC957

Will you have OSD settings and ICC profiles for the MAG 321UPX that you recently reviewed?

Puffin_Time

Thank you very much to hardware unboxed could not afford one of the calibrating tools so I came across your channel while trying to find recommend settings and your icc profile and osd setting have made such a massive difference to my monitor thanks again

Funkybadger

When will be the OSD spreadsheet updated? with the new 4k OLED monitors?

Dr. Lozán Tamás

Amazing! Will you be updating the OSD spreadsheet with the new Samsung OLED G9 as well?

Marc Langenohl

Hey, is there any OSD settings for the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG27AQDM? I could not find it in the excel sheet. Thank you!

Dr. Lozán Tamás

Hi regarding osd setting you don't update for PG27AQDM ?

Skyepod

Hello! I setup my M27Q-P with the ICC profile and settings as recommended here, but one thing I didnt notice anywhere was whether I should adjust my nvidia control panel colour settings from default?

Joseph Jezioranski

Tim. PLEASE add actual game play and your experience/feel opinion for monitor reviews. Just techie #s and calibration stuff doesnt translate to "feel" and experience in games, etc. Case in point: got LG27GP83B and it sucks in real use case. Lucky stores started getting the M27Q P in near me. So 83B is $399CDN on best sale. and M27Q P is $350 CDN. having already the M27Q original - the LG 83B sucked (back light bleed awful, jittery screen, tearing, motion problems, black screen whenever I alt+tab. 83B keeps "reinstalling" itself. Windows keeps "re-finding" it (driver is trash). M27Q is a stunner. M27Q P is awesomer. 83B has awful black consistency across panel : had to make desktop white to avoid seeing the grayish greasy black. I used your ICC and if you look at 83B from 10ft plus away and its a video its ok but for dynamic content its horrid. Please take this suggestion into account and run the monitors through like Valhalla, Valorant, Racing Sim, something else (4 or 5 titles). Please please and maybe even use it for simple content creation or something for mixed use. But as mainly gamer channel - AT LEAST test games for tearing, the latest driver/firmware, compatibility with Alt+Tab, Fullscreen, Game menus etc. thanks glhf

Question...outside of what Steve said...Is there a reason why 2 sticks of ram are better than four...is this true regardless of the amount of ram such as 16 GB v 128gb?

Mike Quinton

Can I request a profile for the LG 34WP65C-B? I don't see one for this display

Maximilian Chen

Question...which is the most...meaning ONE..demanding PC game based on taxing the GPU AND the most demanding game for taxing the CPU...which means you need x amount of CPU or GPU horsepower to run the thing "well"?

Mike Quinton

Hey, I'm currently looking at upgrading my monitor. I have a LG 32GK650F-B and Im wondering if you think it's worth the expense. I was looking at the Asus PG279QM. I want the faster refresh time and dont really need 32" vs 27." Do you think its a worth while upgrade? My monitor does fine now and I just wanted your opinion and the expense vs benefit ratio. Thanks

Carlos Varas

Can you provide the OSD settings for the Odyssey G7 S28?

ownagemods

Profiles are still being uploaded to this for all monitor reviews

Hardware Unboxed

Thanks for offfering the colour profiles! However... I downloaded the Profile for the MSI MAG274QRF-QD and when I went to look for the review again, There is no mention of the OSD settings. I know there is no support but using the colour profile without the OSD settings is a bit more difficult.

hendrik visch

Maybe STeimve?

Hi. I'm going through a two month long ordeal of buying and RMAing monitors and greatly appreciated your videos and thorough approach. However, I stumbled hard on several points (4-th monitor in a row) which could be easily addressed in reviews. First one, is an issue of IPS Glow. At least as far as I understand, it was an IPS Glow - huge orange spots in the angles of the monitor which were highly visible on the dark background even in daylight. Seems like for most people it's easy to ignore them, but for some they are deal-breaking, because It's hard to ignore something colored. At the same time a lot of emphasis is put by everyone on backlight uniformity which is not an issue for me, even though I usually work and game in totally dark room. It is gray or slightly tinted blue which is easy to ignore for me and at least two other people I know. Second issue I have is in color performance discussion. Since I was (and probably still is) not well educated in color calibration my default assumption was that color profile applied on either driver or OS level. Usually, color performance is discussed in a way, that even if by default it is not good, you can just fix if with calibration. Which is not true, because color profile is applied on application level, which might make a good wide color monitor (Like MSI MAG27-lettersoup) unfit for everyday use for some people. Even doom 2016 feels overly red, and almost-magenta blood and emerald grass in other games are beyond me. Most of the games just ignore color profiles and even windows desktop manager mostly ignores it. So, my point is. Some people might be more sensitive to colored IPS Glow rather than discolored backlight bleed, and many users might not realize that profiling would not work outside of professional application and it would be beneficial for some people to state that facts a little more clearly in the review. Would be a couple sentences which is not much, considering overall amount of detail. Also, would have nice to have a reviews at least for some semi-professional monitors, because seems like that in the end I will have to choose between PA278CV and VP2768A, just because I expect low level of colored glow from them and will not have to worry about over-saturation. But there is not similarly rigorous reviews for them, so I don't know if they might be flawed in some other way, outside of lower refresh rate.

Sergei Kitaev

Hey Tim and Steve, sorry Steve but someone's name had to be typed first :P . Tim Question: Will you review of the NEW Samsung Smart Monitors namely - "Samsung M5 27" Full HD 8MS HDR VA LED Smart Monitor" or the 32" no bias :P These seem reasonable here in Australia, despite the 60hz rate. Be interested in your opinion"!

Michael Thompson

Would love to know this as well, also other monitor settings such as brightness etc. if possible :)

Max

Hey Tim, I have just purchased a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD Alphabet Soup™, do you have the monitor custom RGB settings you used when calibrating it? Thanks.

Jonathan Graham

I used these settings: Brightness 64, Contrast 50, Gamma 1 User Color Red 46 Green 50 Blue 44

Hardware Unboxed

I just installed the aoc 24g2 (2020 model) ICC but I have played with the color setting before, what should I put them to ? the default that came with it or should I put it into a specific setting

Mahmoud Mishal

Just wanna ask if the OSD settings for the AOC 24G2 2020 version is the same with the 2019 version?

Cerwin Munsayac

Thanks a lot, Tim. Your ICC profile for Gigabyte M27Q gave the perfect output I was looking for. Love from India. :)

White Tiger

Also the Gigabyte FI27q-x 240 Hz looks interesting

Michael Nord

profile for MAG274QRF-QD? I can’t find an msi profile at all not sure what to use

Bradley Sproul

installed the ICC profiles for my Odyssey G7 and BenQ El2870U. very pleased with the results. thank you

cunning linguist

I hope there will be a chance of you getting to review any of the newly released 1440p 240hz IPS monitors soon (Alienware and Acer Predator), seems like they're hard to come by outside of the US (and Asia) right now

Lars Holmen-Jensen

Hey there, I installed your ICC profile for LG 32GK650F with displayCAL. Do I have to still tweak the RGB settings like you said in the video review for the factory calibration or the calibration makes the monitor accurate without touching any setting? Thank you!

Enrico Contestabile

Any chance for a review of the Asus XG27UQ?

Michael Gullickson

Don't know if you're still looking for this but I messaged them directly and got these settings for the 27GL850 - Brightness 48, Gamma Mode 2, Contrast 70, Color Temp Custom, R/G/B Red 50, Green 50, Blue 47, Sharpness 50

Anders Vendrup

can i get the one for the ViewSonic xg 2703-gs

Samuel Rubinstein

I'd say it's unlikely the profile would be accurate

Hardware Unboxed

I am getting a viotek GNV27DB will the gft27dab work with that monitor? or will you be doing a review soon of this monitor?

Brian Adams

There is nothing stopping you but it may not be accurate enough, it depends on the panels used

Hardware Unboxed

Hi Tim, can i use the VG279QM icc for the VG259QM?

Reginald Rojas

Just uploaded it now, should be available

Hardware Unboxed

Anyone know where i can find the icc profile for todays g27qc monitor?

Daz

Thanx I’ll give it a shot and see how it looks.

Matt Gilmore

The profile will work, but may not be that accurate. It's hard to say without testing the 27-inch model. It'll probably be close

Hardware Unboxed

Will the 32in G7 color profile work with the 27in G7? I don’t see why it would not but curious to test out.

Matt Gilmore

regarding the 27GL850, what OSD settings do you want to use with that profile? i tried it with sRGB, and it looks a little too bright. the review really doesn't hint anything, or i'm too stupid top catch it.

k4Qu

So do i just load the ICC profile in the settings option the click install profile and im done right? Was also wondering if display cal loader does something differently then applying the ICC profile through windows color management sorry to bother, Thank you. Edit: from what ive read display cal is more accurate so that's what ill use

WavyWompa

Thank you :-) I just scored a 27GL850 and am keen to try the profile

CD

This is a re-post of a previous post on ICC profiles, with additional information. It's also being pinned to our feed because of the number of people that ask us where to find profiles. Hopefully this will be easier to find
