Don't! You have enough work on benchmarking, and it was more entertaining this way imo! Just love these streams where anything can happen! And thanks for having my question answered (still think older xeons are dead). Well 2 or 3 exceptions if U have MB already..

The X5650 is actually Westmere-EP, not Bloomfield, which is a die shrink of Nehalem. That provides slightly better IPC. Nehalem is ~15% behind Sandy Bridge.
Ryzen is between Ivy Bridge and Haswell when it comes to computing on average, and between Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge when it comes to gaming, on average.
Ryzen's problems in gaming is because the memory controller is optimized for throughput, which hurts any latency sensitive workload, including gaming. It has higher latency than Intel CPUs.

Just ignore the Skylake-X gaming performance for now. They're working on updating it.
