or rather, they prove that they're monster hunters and also monster friends :3 - they are not doing such a bad thing by killing the monsters. They are saving them in a way, and not a nihilist way haha.
Next page, a monster speaks to them and they find that the magical monsters, as they were resurrected to carry out Sorcerer Mordecai's will, are bound by those things he tells them to do. Our boys resolve to revive them into less destructive beings after finding the sorcerer, and so their motivation for finding him grows...
Now their goals are, in order:
1) lift their curses
2) stop the monsters from wreaking havoc on the land
3) free the monsters by killing those under sorcerer's control
4) revive the monsters so they have another chance at life in a more benevolent form
Only one is personal, and the others selfless. They started this journey for themselves, but now they do it for the world around them.
