I don't think the font I use even comes with italics (it comes with bold and normal only!) but I'm glad you think I made up for it :D
I love using expressive body language. Remora is that personified, especially with the third hand on his tail - he can cross his arms AND gesture menacingly at someone at the same time!
I also like to use subconscious body language. Like here - Osric is putting his arms behind his back. That means he's hiding something. Shoulders are good for expressing states of being too!
Also I made sure the fire lighting was intense for this scene. Makes for a nice 'hell' setting.

Remora's body language is so entertaining here.
Lettering in comic books often uses bold/italicized words to communicate the cadence of a character's dialogue (really useful since we can't use adverbs or other prose tricks), but it's not needed at all when you've got characters as emotive as this.
That last panel drips with so much malice I read Remora's line in that low, slow, raspy threatening tone subconsciously. That's storytelling.
