Vote on November's Topics!

Hey everyone!

Time to vote on what I'll be covering next month :)

As the usual guaranteed topics, we have:

And then I decoded to let you decide on all the rest of the topics! I have 5 ideas, and I'll make the 4 that get the most votes:

Vote on all the ones you like, and we'll see what I work on :)

I was with my co-workers and we ended up with the same conclusion. Rooting is way too risky and Fairphone are a good deal.

Yeah, totally, since the start of the video is basically: Chrome doesn't let you block ads / trackers efficiently, I'll include the extensions that are affected :)

The Linux Experiment

Can't unsee a windows logo with tiny stick arms waving around like a windmill

I dabbled in that topic when I looked at /e/, but I'll be honest, I've lost all interest for tinkering on my phone, it's now just a basic tool that I don't really care about. My next one will likely be a Fairphone with /e/, and I'll stop at that!

The Linux Experiment

+1 for that one. Phone manufacturers abandoning old hardware leave people who can't buy new phones more vulnerable to security risks. Since nor the hardware or the software are open source, it's really hard to get around this. I would personally love to see the topics of open phones more, especially outside the EU/US where the likes of pine phone aren't really accessible

(#5) I think your audience fully understands the obstructions and failings of windows without another demonstration of it's user abusive design and invasive practices. (#1) Wherever another windows ship sinks, i it raises the visibility of our Linux rescue boats.

Hey Nick, one idea if you are interested. Recently I found out that my phone it's been without security updates for several time. A tutorial/where to find info to root phones could be an interesting topic. thanks :3

One added letter could provide a less clickbait-y, but accurate, and likely as effective alternative title: "Windows is flailing, but it won't help Linux" ;)

Nick, if you do the web browsers video, I think that it would be a good idea to include a section where you showcase and explain some privacy enhancing extensions, like ublock origin and ublock lite, that way everyone can enjoy at least some privacy benefits no matter the installed browser :)

And Linux troubleshooting is ALWAYS a very good thing to get

Ubuntu. So fond of it. Even though I was late to the party

20 years of Ubuntu would be really nice :)
