I can understand why they fear aliens and change bc they feel like they cant compete at the same level. I see why Ben progressed towards the way he is now even tho hes bad, the back story definitely makes you feel more for the situation

Some would humanize Lockwood too much. Sam does it perfectly. Also Superman may not have been in this episode but when he finally returns it’s well worth the wait
