YouTube / COPPA & Updates

With recent events that I have been expecting for a while a lot's changed and our awareness levels has increased quite a bit.

I want to start off with a brief but important reminder:

If you or someone needs help archiving or you think something should be archived please join the discord and bug me or someone else that'll direct you to the right person.  There are quite a few people on the team that are more than willing to help content creators save their content from destruction.  https://discord.gg/dGtwRph

For the past 3 weeks I've been nothing but eat, sleep and code for the archive.   Past week has been pretty difficult coding wise as I've pulled the longest days. But you know what that brings us? Spikebot 2.0!  Well, at the time of this post v2.21 to be exact.

What's different?

There's always the Trellos I keep semi-updated as well if you like more ways to keep tabs on what's being done behind the scenes.

In less pressing news but still significant, I have made good on the original backing donors for the current server in use. The cloud storage that they were promised has been provisioned and is now running on the very hardware they helped fund.  This is old news, but for transparency felt should be included in official statements.

A reminder to all Patreons that you can have your name put on the site under the contributors tab if you wish, patreon mesages are not the easiest thing for me to use but if you pop me a message or email I'll get that set up as soon as time permits.

Another reminder that if you're a Patreon you get access to the testing channel on discord, please mention me for the rank in discord.

I would like to publicly thank Anima Fever and Xaekai for both being great helps with current ongoing events.  There are many people who are contributing and helping in various capacities and I thank them SO MUCH for making my life a little easier.

I want to thank everyone for contributing to the Patreon, as I couldn't continue this without such support.   I was going to make more stretch goals for things like 300, 500 etc but I feel that would be a bit tacky.  Truth is for the entire duration of this project I've not really seen any of the monetary donations except in the form of physical goods.  In this case the goods in question are the actual server(s) that run the show.   Further donations past 200 will generally go in the same direction they've always gone, right back onto the archive.  What this does mean is that the archive is officially no longer a financial burden, including the servers I use that are not directly the archive itself.  If nothing more, it is still a definite boost in confidence of my abilities and those of the team members who've helped me along the way.  Maybe I can grab a coffee once in a while...

Thanks for reading and have a great day.
