The 'guy at the end' was Emile Zola. We saw him in "Captain America: First Avenger" as the Red Skull's second-in-command. In "Captain America: Winter Soldier" we found out that Zola had engineered the HYDRA infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D. And for another shout-out - the brainwashing technique HYDRA uses in AOS is known as the "FennHoff technique". (See AOS 2x03 for example)
