Ecto Containment Unit - Door Interface Part Updates!
Added 2025-09-17 19:30:13 +0000 UTCThis past winter, I originally published files and a 3D digital guide for constructing the ECU door and trap interface. As I proceeded to build my full ECU in recent weeks, I made a few additions and small modifications to this file set to ensure compatibility.
The updated file set can be found in the original post!
The good news is that if you built the door/interface you should be able to get it working with the full ECU with minor post-production modifications. Otherwise, I recommend starting with these newer files.
These changes to the file set include:
A more accurate geometry for the pull handle.
The inclusion of struts that will support the trap from the ECU main case.
New parts for creating a hinge attachment to the ECU main case.
Fascia panels for the front (to minimize the number of visible seams)

Yes, I used a few spare small magnets I had in my parts door here. A bit makeshift but it ended up working well.

2025-10-12 20:20:07 +0000 UTCI am also having trouble keeping it nicely tight closed. I considered designing some sort of latch but I can see in your video you are using magnets?

2025-10-12 20:16:56 +0000 UTCI don’t quite understand where the haslab 2itb bracket goes as it’s not on the powerbi guide. Thanks.

2025-10-06 14:35:04 +0000 UTCQuick question- is their a file for the magnet blocks? Didn't see one, but I like the design, what size magnets did you use?

2025-10-03 23:51:56 +0000 UTCIs there a picture somewhere showing how the door fits together? I can't seem to find one. A, B ,C ,D, etc.

2025-09-17 19:40:52 +0000 UTCThat is specified in the original post that is liked in this update. I recommend having an assortment of M3 and M4 on hand. (most of the ECU is M4, various lengths)

2025-09-17 19:36:40 +0000 UTCDo we need M3, 4, & 5s?
