This post contains 10 3D printable modules for building the main case of the Ecto Containment Unit.
May I PLEASE see the storage facility?
This past winter, I published a Containment Unit interface for inserting a trap. I thought it would make for a nice standalone display piece even if I never built a full ECU. I've seen a number of builds pop-up that have been integrating these parts (notably the cartridge clip for the Haslab trap). With my Halloween preparations well underway, I thought it was time to finish what I started and make a fully 3D printed Ecto Containment Unit.
These files are for the 'Main Case' compatible with the interface design. It is 10 sections. The assembly tips I have are very straight forward:
Make sure you stock up on red filament if you intend to use filament colors. (this is how I did mine. I used matte red from Polyterra. I went through just under 8 rolls total for the ENTIRE finished project…).
The parts are designed to simply glue together. For test fitting, I used a collection of small and medium binder clips to clamp everything together. (In fact, the solution has worked so well, I haven't yet permanently glued my parts together!)
Part 2 coming soon...
