This is a project I started on in the beginning of 2025 but it wasn't until late this summer that I finally was able to complete the model and print it out. Next to the Ghost Chipper, the 2016 Ghost Trap variant is among my favorite gear from that movie. The design is a complete re-imagining while having that distinct Ghostbusters-y vibe. I primarily used photographs as my basis for the design and improvised in areas where I wasn't sure about a detail. I think I got most of it pretty close!
It looks dangerous, is sizable, and has enough real estate on the inside for all kinds of electronics. I plan on hooking my print up to a full fog machine for inclusion in my Halloween party installation.
It's a larger build but pretty straightforward. Keep silver filament and 3mm and 4mm hex cap screws in stock for assembly. Super glue is used sparingly in a few areas. I'm sure a few of you enterprising builders will get around to working out an open/close mechanism and functional pedal.
