I actually only really decided on MC/Max/Delacroix being a thing in Chapter 5 of CDLC, which is why it starts a bit later than most of the other romances. This way it's more consciously planned out and means that the MC/Beaumont/Trevelyan can have a good amount of room to breathe!

But knowing that Beaumont and Trev were already ready to ask each other to go to the party definitely made me cackle in delight and made my MC go "Wait, was *I* the second-best option?" LOL
