Newsletter 📰 January 2025

Hello Patrons!! Happy 2025 to everybody, I hope your years have been off to a fantastic start!! Little bit of an iffy one for us over here in the States 😅 but nonetheless I have high hopes that this'll be a great year. Here's a quick update about everything you can expect coming up with my art:

🥬This month:

• I made a ton of progress on the scene of Eddie and Kal on vacation together (teaser shown above) and it's already nearly done!! But I'll wait til Feb 1 to reveal it to you guys. I've really pushed myself for a more Ghibli-inspired, animated look to this painting - which ended up being challenging, but I can't wait to hear what you guys think of the result.

🥬Next month:

• While Eddie and Kal are on vacation in the tropics together, Seamus is stuck back in snowy, frozen Boston. 🍀 How's he dealing with Eddie's absence, do you think? Think he's distracting himself with another anonymous encounter - maybe even with somebody who looks sorta similar to his dear roommate? I wonder who that could be?

• If I can squeeze it in, there might be a bonus painting next month. I really enjoyed painting the random dad characters in the hot tub last month - I found it fun and freeing to show characters who weren't burdened by a full storyline/history - and so I want to occasionally do that, just draw some random dudes for the fun of it to share with you guys. This one might tickle those of you who have a thing for age gaps 🤔

🥬March:

• I think in March we're gonna have to design a new fantasy character, it's been ages! I'll kick that off with some polls in late February for the high-tier patrons to help determine what direction the character will go, and design from there based on the results. I always enjoy the collaboration of that process!!!

• It's also been a long time since I did a character Q&A! 📝 I'll fit that in March, and decide between now and then which character will be in the hot seat. That'll be another thing for the high-tier patrons btw, so if that sounds interesting to you, maybe a good month to bump up (you can always go back down after if you want!!).

That's the update on the art front!! IRL me is gonna be busy asf for the next month or two. I mentioned to you guys that I've been running a homebrew D&D campaign for the past 3 years - it's been so fun and creatively satisfying to craft a world, plot, art, characters, etc... but so much work! The finale is on the horizon now, and I don't want to drop the ball and half-ass anything right at the end. I'm excited for it, but intimidated by the task. It'll be nice to have the campaign off my plate once it's over, since it feels like a third job sometimes, but I know its absence is gonna leave a hole in my heart. Mixed feelings!!

What's up with you guys? Anybody get snowed in this month - or, like Eddie and Kal, take a sweet trip somewhere warm and tropical to escape? Or maybe you're in the southern hemisphere where this IS the warm and tropical time of year!! Hope you guys are all doing well, wherever you are, and that this art can brighten your day in some way.
