I also tried for a more loose, brushy, rough/textured/flat color painting style on this over my typical look. What do you guys think? I found it very freeing to try to be more loose with the details and lighting!
I went with open bathrobe for the first version. I have a few variations I'm working on that I'll post next week and you guys can tell me which one you think should be the "canon" version!!

I agree with this loose brushy style being a bit of a trade off! I love getting into details too. but I also enjoyed the challenge of not allowing myself to get lost in all the small stuff, and try to communicate the character/scene with bigger brush strokes.

2024-03-19 15:06:47 +0000 UTCI will admit I am more of a fan of your usual style, if only because of all the detail you lavish on your subjects' bodies and expressions. But I have to say, if I didn't know you worked in digital I really would think this was a painting. And I love how bright the light is on this one! Was expecting more of a sunrise vibe from the sketch.
