A revisit to the LED signage modules to work out how they made such high voltage LEDs in such a small package.

I didn't even know they made 120 and 240V versions of these, but when I found out I ordered some to see how they power the LEDs.
This almost feels like the usual script. There's one company banging these lamps out with a wide range of brands printed on them.
This lamp has one of the most unfriendly power supplies ever. When unplugged it can hold a charge of over 300V across the base for a long time.

I've featured one like this before with a glass tube for the filament. But this version is super compact and rugged, while also being very simple.

This light was sent by Thomas Nagy a LONG time ago.
Now I wish I'd looked at it sooner, as it has a very weird bit of power smoothing circuitry.
