Polish MRE taste test.
It's a while since I've tried an MRE (Military style meal pack). This one was generously sent by Michal along with several other technical items that I've still to take apart.

This light has so many issues that it's possibly a fire liability. It has no charge control for the lithium cell at all.
I took your advice and re-recorded the video again with a different approach and getting straight to the point at the beginning.
Most of you will be aware of the current media frenzy surrounding a sudden surge of lung issues and deaths caused by "vaping".
These all seem to be related to the use of a cannabis product wh...

Back at my usual bench with the reincarnation of one of my favourite hacking lamps of all time. Now branded PIfco and with a slight penny pinching annoyance. No problem to us though. 2019-09-11 01:02:32 +0000 UTC View Post
This is a spontaneous video made from random snippets of video I recorded at work.

Not my usual style of video, but I've been pondering making this one for a very long time. The final nudge was finding that some neighbours here may have early onset Alzheimer's.
This is supposed to be a pink heart, but in the shop the demo unit looked like a set of balls lying on the counter.
This vintage trackball is just like modern trackballs....
Except you really have to pus...

I made a few short videos to try and reduce the amount of stuff I was carrying back as luggage. These lights are now on their way directly to the Isle of Man along with lots of other technica...

Quite short notice, mainly because I wasn't sure what I was going to be doing for this week. We usually meet in the corner of the Counting House bar on the corner of George Square in the room diago...

The inclusion of audio from the track "The show must go on" caused a copyright issue, so here's the version that will be released to YouTube. I'll also put up the musical section as a separat...

I'm sure I've looked at one of these before, but it's worth checking if the design has changed.

This year has shot by and I've not recorded any backstage videos at all. Since it was the last day of the show tonight I tried to capture a typical show for the lighting crew behind the scene...

Just call me the "The Gloved Destroyer" since I'll be wearing gloves for a few videos to shield the squeamish from my heat induced skin issue. (It's already healing up.)
If you've noticed that I've not posted a video for a few days it's because I've been having an allergy problem with my hands that makes them look a bit rough.
This video is about an Aldi sola...

I may re-record this video (again) since I was struggling to get enough time to make it properly. It may sound a bit rushed as I was having to head to work right after recording it.
We'll be meeting the same place as the last couple of years. A rather pleasing Wetherspoons pub based in an old cinema building. Food and alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink available at the ...

This was a gift from Vince the crew chief. He travels around the world with work and found this odd fan and work light in Singapore.
This light is sold by Argos in the UK, but is also available online from other sources.
Argos is discontinuing it and selling them off very cheaply, so try and grab one now if you want it. 2019-08-06 00:47:12 +0000 UTC View Post

Aldi is a chain of weird stores in the UK which features European food and technical stuff. They often stock interesting technical products like this light.
We had a slight incident with this light before making the video, so it has slightly less glass than when it was bought.
