Aime's breakbeat and how wide is ok?
Embrace the genre

Again another funky track. It seems a bit dark so I would really like to double check a reference. (The song before or after). Give a listen to your song with a tilt shift where the low end is tame...

1. Set volume of reference (so that it feels good to you)
2. Look at SPL meter (fine to use an app-no need to buy a spl meter). Remember the average SPL
3. Play back your mix at same SP...

Great job man!
Just a few concepts to add. Keep it up

It just seems something happened with the top end. Maybe a forgotten EQ or something. Give the main elements some mid as well. Music lives in the mids :).

Mixing Pop is even weirder than general the usual.
So, the zing is melodyne and putting in the even harmonics within melodyne. (Not Full to the right, just a tad). For the rest sooth on the ...
Bit of reverb on a main element plus a little bit of volume adjusting makes things less awkward :).

As you homework. Draw a line and after another shape that embodies different concepts. Next, how can you move all those concepts around (rhythm/panning/timing)

Honestly, I would embrace the sound especially if you want to jam out.
The things you do need are:
- a limiter (hardware if you want to go without a daw)
- (optional compres...

A song that is similar is style and genre.. (aka vibes right and has similar elements)
Split it up :). Either get a (sub osc) or use the original clean 808. Will be a lot easier to mix as you can side chain the "sub/clean 808" from the kick if needed.

Lot's of different things going on here.

If you care, you can go with Spotify's recommendation of -2db ceiling if your song is above -8 LUFS overall.. (might be less lufs. I will edit if it's a lower lufs)
Personally I do not care t...

The definition of good is in your reference. Simply match the low, mid and top end. Only process with eq and if you have to ADSR. If your kick is pissing off the limiter switch the kick.

Cut out the main issue of the kick. That will sort out a lot of the low mid clarity ;)

Let me know if you can replicate this, Only do this from 10 to 150hz:
1. Open up an EQ
2. Open up an operator (click the box fixed, in between the Fine and Level in A)
3. Set level of ...
Groovy as can be again.
Double check the mid side and follow the general rule of thumb. If it's a main element try to keep it louder in mono vs side. (Aka the pluck is louder on th...

Setting your kick to a set number will take away the variable of volume. Which will really help out streamline your workflow over the long run :)

To get an overal smooth top end use a de esser (preferably one that can do parallel processing). In the example a lot of vocoders were used so start experimenting with that aswel :)

It's solved via connecting your computer to a different group, or connecting each speaker to a different group.

No I do not but I do have a set of similar concepts.. Every time I mix I do this. Plus color code
For vocals I always use the Freddy Mercury tip.
