Thank the OBS gods :D
Yes Apple does not seem to be doing a lot of promotions, and the show just wrapped filming S4 recently, so we will probably have S4 in a fall.
I think a lot of surprising casting for this show comes from the fact that this show was not suppose to be what you see in a pilot at all. It was suppose to be a dramedy about rivarly between The Morning Show and a different network's show. A lot more corporate backstabbing but in a fun way! So you have a lot of those actors who do primarily comedy cast already. And then the Matt Lauer scandal broke casting darker shadow on morning tv scene and the show got re-tooled and they decided to tackle celebrity workplace sexual harassment scandal as one of its main point. And pivoted from dramedy to just drama.
Taking primarily comedic actors usually playing quite likeable people and throwing some of them to those more complex roles really gives some of them a chance to shine acting-wise.
Mitch is fascinating because he truly believes he did nothing wrong. There will be some stuff to unpack as we go through this season that will answer some of the questions so I will live it at hat for now. But also for now you have affable Steve Carrel spewing all this misogynistic bullshit and it does take a moment to get used to.
Jennifer as Alex is also interesting. She is usually way more bubbly. Alex in turn is colder, even mean (to Bradley especially) and spends a lot of this episode mostly concerned about herself.
Reese as Bradley is another good twist on her usually roles when this time gets to play more angry and assertive. And Bradley's hard personal backstory will be something we will revisit going forward, but already gives us a good understanding on how she grew up and what hang-ups she might have over it.
We will spend a bit more time with supporting cast going forward and there are some outstanding stories and performances there we will chat more down the line
Last but not least I will single out Billy Crudup as Cory. He was absolutely for me the IT factor in falling in love with the show. He just have this mischievous corporate joker energy in every scene he is in I fell in love instantly. While I cannot be certain you will love him as much as I do I hope you will at least appreciate his acting. (And his otter metaphors xd)
