Joe and Cynthia was SO shocking to me!! With that said, I ended up loving what it did for their characters and how they made it make sense. I saw some comments on a YT video of people saying how ridiculous and dumb it was that they got together and I was like hmm, I really thought it was done well.

It's funny you say that about the fandom because I've only watched 1 Youtube reaction so far and the comments section was like Whoa, why do you people even watch this series? lol I'm so glad to have so many people that love this show comment here and really deep dive into there opinions on it. It's a very relatable show and I feel like maybe a lot of people either forget what it was like o be that age, don't want to open that side of them or admit how true it can be.

2023-03-28 23:20:58 +0000 UTCyes you’ve finally reached these episodes! i love that we got a marcus narration and his point of view. i especially love the lighting choices when we were in his pov being so dark and gloomy. we always see these characters in relation to ginny and georgia and i enjoyed that we finally got to see them a bit outside of that. the max and marcus scene in his bedroom was a definite favorite. his speech to her about her being emotionally fearless and the way he explained how ginny being the only thing that makes him happy is a problem. we did know he was on meds. he mentioned it to ginny in that scene last season in episode 9 when he talked about his friend dying and how he needed help and thought about dying a lot too. he said he went to a therapist and got medicine and things got better. i assume he stayed on them. that cynthia scene with her husband always makes me teary. the fact that she mentions dating bad men and having a bad father - she and georgia are more alike than they think. the way she stepped in when she saw gil cornering and threatening georgia was everything. also that cynthia and joe scene at her house was the sweetest. them bonding this season really has been a surprise but i liked it. abby hooking up with press was hard to watch. i think you’re right that she wants that validation but also as max and norah said, you would have to literally hate yourself to hook up with him and we know she does. the breakup scene was another hard one to watch. this episode is so full of sad scenes. i wish ginny wasn’t so oblivious to everything but she’s been dealing with so much and as the narration said, we all have blind spots. if only she had picked up on that “i don’t have room for anyone else’s pain right now” bc that really said so much. so glad you watched 8 and 9 together so you weren’t left on the gunshot cliffhanger!

2023-03-22 17:21:52 +0000 UTCi really appreciate your g&g reactions. i often don’t like looking at what the fandom or other reactors say bc a large chunk seem to not understand the characters especially ginny. always putting the blame on her (for example so many ppl say “she wants to have money issues so bad” like no…. she DOES have mommy issues 😭😭) even with not noticing marcus going though depression without taking into consideration what she’s going through in her own life and head and how well he hides it (like a lot of depressed ppl). so i’m just glad you’re always so understanding and i’ve noticed that for your reactions to most shows that you dig in deep and i love seeing that bc so do i lmaoo. also yea i agree with your take on abby. she clearly wants his attention bc she’s insecure and he’s the main (or really only) person that picks on her so she wants his approval. i think in an earlier episode before we see them hooking up someone says something like “you’d have to hate yourself to hook up with press” to abby when they notice him texting her so i think that’s what they’re doing. i just hope they don’t try to have them actually get together …. sure he can go through character development but i don’t want it!
