2023-01-23 17:14:05 +0000 UTCThe dragons and some other parts are 3D animated. That was also already the case with the dragon in season 1. By the way, now that we got that flashback to the dragon fight in season 1. They actually foreshadowed this story arc back in episode 2. When they entered General Krieg´s home there was a carpet with 5 dragons on it. Krieg and the other 4 who attacked now. I missed this show a lot! And especially after Velma this is such a good reminder how to make an adult animated series.

2023-01-20 15:22:17 +0000 UTCIf I recall correctly most of the animation is 2d classic hand-drawn, but dragons (and some other more complex monsters) are 3d computer animated. Brimscythe and Delilah's demon dogs last season were also 3d animated, but I think this red hue/fire/smoke background of Emon in flames lends itself to more smooth composition.
