I looked up some stuff and, aside from her liking an out of context Tweet from JK Rowling which ugh JK Rowling🤦♀️ I don’t see any actual evidence of her being transphobic. I thought that would be a little weird because one of the characters in her show The sex lives of college girls actually holds a fundraiser for trans youth and is an activist for the LGBTQ+ community, so for her to feel that way and then write that in her own show would be really strange. I do however have to say I’m quite surprised at certain things I did find, but it seems like people may just be reaching to add to the chaos of Velma.

I don't understand this formula "adult cartoons" are using I wouldn't mind seeing a cartoon aimed towards adults that didn't try to mimic family guy. I don't know who Mindy I mean I've seen her face before but never seen her acting, I think she made the show Never have I ever which is one of my favorite netflix shows, idk what she was thinking here though.

2023-01-20 00:43:41 +0000 UTCEww this is so bad! I´m impressed how they can take Scooby Doo and make it THIS BAD! Not including Scooby is stupid. Norville is ok but doesn´t feel like Shaggy. I hated everything about this. The nudity and sex jokes, just to seem "adult" and edgy. The writing in general is so terrible too. Like pointing out that first episodes often have sex etc doesn´t make it clever meta commentary or funny just because you do it too. The way they portrayed Velma´s PTSD is honestly insulting. You don´t get over a panic attack by laughing about something random. Mindy Kaling unfortunately doesn´t seem to be a great person either. Heard some stuff about transphobia related to her. And it just gets worse from what I´ve seen. For example in one of the other episodes they make fun of adults that still watch cartoons and call them losers. They are literally insulting their own audience and think that´s clever writing! HBO could have continued any of their cancelled animated shows instead of doing this. But they decided to do this train wreck, and apparently are already planning a season 2.
