WIP Titanic Unclean One skin... and QUESTION!

Hatty and I have spent a few days working on building up realistic diseased skin tones, and making ourselves feel very ill looking for reference pictures to get the colours right.
While you gross yourselves out looking at how it's coming along so far, I've got a question for you!
For the big sword, what sort of material do you imagine it being made out of?
A big chunk of stone, with moss maybe?
Maybe some kind of colourful crystal?
How about a shard of a dark shiny stone like onyx?

I believe it would be very thematic for it to be a big rusty lump of tarnished brass it would also allow you to tie together the metallic parts of the model nicely
