I don't remember a film in recent memory that's urged quite so many people to message us asking if we've seen it. This will obviously contain heavy spoilers since we have now seen it and feel positively nauseous after the fact.

this weirdly reminds me of the movie Click with Adam Sandler, where he gets a remote that can fast forward reality. and he's a workaholic, so he eats nothing but junk food, and the remote fast forwards like 10 years, and it turns out he's ruined his body because he's morbidly obese and suffers 2 heart attacks.

This was my fav movie of the year, it’s a buck wild fairytale that encapsulates the emotional damage we do to ourselves when we are held to impossible standards. I’ll just stay a crone, thank you very much! Ps. The boyfriend and I just finished the Novympia Royal Rumble and were cackling and cheering the whole way through. Excellent work and congrats to Kat, long may she reign!

Very fitting I think, it was excellent! 👌

2024-11-24 19:11:34 +0000 UTCOh my god. This film made me SQUIRM for real for real. I was pleased as punch when I saw this was this week’s pod topic. Side note (really far side cos not at all related) but have you ever seen this BBC Education documentary about the people who work at Alton Towers. It follows the opening of Oblivion and some of the staff are such characters (particularly Dawn who is a chainsmoking ride operator who is obsessed with the Toyland Tours soundtrack). It’s so funny because it’s not satire - despite being utterly hilarious and ridiculous. Lymp you simply must give it a go if you haven’t already. I think you hit it right on that Elisabeth says almost nothing in the film it sounds very uncomfortable. It really drove home the reality that this is someone who has lived with their focus on being seen on not heard. I really hope it gets recognition come awards season - excellent films in the horror genre often get passed up which is a shame. PS. I was laughing during the grotesque prawn eating scenes at the beginning thinking of them being used as a cutaway 😂 🦐

Also didn't understand why Demi's face at the end just dried up and was washed away. What happened to her damn face?!?!

I watched it because of the hype, the mixed reviews and thought let me watch it and see what I think. Well it was one of those films that during and after it finished I was like wtf did I just watch. It wasn’t a great film in my opinion. I do get the message they were trying to get across, I spoke about this in the discord actually, I do get the message of it that we get old and become disposable and it’s onto the next young hot thing especially where women are concerned. For me it was a bit predictable and it just didn’t really go anywhere.

I caught so many spoilers of this film on twitter, however as you said there are so many turns in the story that the spoilers actually did not ruin it for me. I can’t believe you haven’t watched Charlies Angels: Full Throttle starring Demi Moore! It’s one of the best shit films out there!

So posting before I actually listen I am so ready to hear your thoughts on this, I saw it at a midnight showing after watching speak no evil first ( James McAvoy is so hot in that film). Got all the wrestling vids to listen to, making my dog sitting weekend fly by. Also Richard is not straight to quote Karen Walker, that would be a damaging lie!
