Three days under schedule

[Abelius]: Hi there people,

As the title implies, I've had some days of RL things going on that have prevented me from working on the game.

Although I don't know if calling those 'real life' is actually accurate, being this game development the thing I spend most of my time in. ^_^

Anyway, I needed to take care of some matters like...:

- A full day of contract work
- Signing up to the gym
- Taking the car to the mechanic
- Buying a 2nd hand motorcycle

That was quite a shopping list, and the last topic was surprisingly time-consuming... In fact, the thing I've spent the most time in was to choose protective equipment. :-P

So, now that I have the weekend in front of me, I'll try to recover the 'lost' time and get LOKR v0.2 beta around the third week of the month.

From there on, we'd really like to launch monthly updates even if they're smaller than I initially estimated. I know many of you are patient to the point of religious faithfulness and that this game is certainly more complex than others out there, but I also wouldn't like to relax on those facts and turn this project into a 'four versions per year' game.

I don't mind the occasional person trolling on forums, but I do mind when previous patrons leave saying that we didn't meet their expectations regarding timely content updates. And that IS happening every month. If it wasn't happening we may have reached Top 10 on Graphtreon already...

Anyway, in the next weeks you'll probably not see much stream alerts from me. That's because I'll be focusing on coding and writing dialogues, which I can't show you. But I'll try to keep you updated nonetheless.

Thank you for your support and have a great weekend.

The amount of polish that you've put into this game is impressive to say the least, maintaining that attention to detail with every added feature can't be easy. Most of us get it, the ones that don't simply haven't followed enough Indy beta games to understand the concept, I'm sure. Just don't let it discourage you, think of it like this: The more people criticise you over the timeline, the more people actually like what you're putting put... Even if they are being pushy, the fan base is still there. :)

SomeRandomGuy

We want many people like you! ^_^ What it worries me the most about people that leave is that they get the understanding that we're doing this (being slow) on purpose. We're not, obviously. I barely have time to do anything other than being in front of the computer (hence signing up for the gym) and I dream of the time when the engine is stable enough to really focus on events, dialogues, and plot. But, again, that's not your concern. Similar games on Patreon have a lot more content with less attention to detail, and they're just doing fine. So we'll try to focus on that from now on.

LOK Team

Thank you for your honesty, Dumai. I really appreciate it, and this is exactly what I mean. We can't expect people staying forever, even if we inform them about every detail in development. It's true that there have been a lot of projects that finish without notice, happy to take advantage of people's patience and hopefulness. That will never be our case because we're actually depending on this to work for paying our bills (I turned freelance some time ago to focus on the game). But still, I fully understand how this works. We decided to focus on quality instead of quantity, and that has an associated cost in time, which is always limited. So we'll try to change that and get those version numbers running. ;-)

LOK Team

It's great to hear, congratulations on the motorcycle, btw. I honestly stopped pledging due to the infrequent updates myself, planning to come back once more gameplay had been added. I never lost interest in the project as I'm sure most of the lost patrons haven't either, and seeing regular (even small ones) updates will likely bring most of them back. After the coming update drops, I plan to start pledging again, mostly because of this post. But make no mistake, we do appreciate the effort you're putting into this regardless of how long it takes. LoK was always a game that I loved to hate because there were always a ton of versions and they were NEVER finished. -_- You've done an amazing job so far.

I'm one of those on the edge atm. Here is the deal. If you can't get monthly content out, switch to pay by the update. I have no idea how this project will turn out, however I've been burned enough by monthly pledges going into a black hole. Please show those who don't have that "religious faithfulness" like myself that you can start producing monthly, especially something this month. If patreon hadn't been so abused, a 2-3 month wait wouldn't be that bad, as long as those updates were full of content. Now when I see a absence of content for ~2+ months, I assume that will continue indefinitely.

Dumai12

The quality is worth the wait

No hard feelings if someone doesn't want to continue, honest. They have their reasons. My only concern with that situation is what business experts say... that is six times harder to win a new customer than to maintain it. When we start making more frequent updates I hope many of them would return. But that's only wishful thinking from me. :-/ Anyway, it's all about work, work, work. As it should be.

LOK Team

Well, I've been missing deadlines alright... but I suppose I didn't keep you in the dark, he he.

LOK Team

Yes, I try hard to keep that in mind. Sometimes, I even remember it! ^_^

LOK Team

This is a lot of information friend

TheSweetDemon

As long as I can fap to it, I don't really mind

Void

You do what you need to do, ye always show great quality work so no stress!

Darren

Don't have to apologize about RL. We all have to do everyday. It's life. For who leave this great project, well it's too bad for them. It seems they forget there aren't 200 people who work behind but just few. And already working so much. And we see results in every details you put to perfect this game. Some will leave.....but more will come for sure. Just keep going this way. No need to rush ;)

CrazyJul

I appreciate you aware that you ought to release updates in reasonable time. I dislike situation when content creators does not respect his/her supporters by missing deadlines over and over again or leave people in radio silence for a very long time.

Lev

No problem you do what you need to do to get RL in order just keep us updated.

Just please remember we don't expect a complex game with great gameplay and mechanics!! We just want fun and simple sex game... That's all! Content > gameplay
