Yumi has a reputation among shinobi's for being serious in battle but lax in her leadership. That is of course unless a fellow shinobi gets on her bad side, in which case the punishment is swift and decisive. For those who show promise and a willingness to learn usually their reprimand only amounts to mild a punishment. However, for those who show little to no promise she uses them as fuel for her training. It has been noted that the number of Shinobi's she has turned into a snack lately has increased. Some say this is because the her standards have risen but I think its because those who see her punishments will willy take a dive on purpose just to become her meal.

由美は忍びの間で、戦いには真剣だが統率力に欠けるという評判だ。もちろん、仲間の忍びが彼女の機嫌を損ねた場合は別で、その場合は迅速かつ断固とした罰が下される。将来性があり学ぶ意欲のある者には、叱責は軽い罰で済むことが多い。しかし、将来性がほとんど見られない、あるいは全く見られない者には、彼女は彼らを鍛錬の糧とする。最近、彼女の餌食になる忍びが増えているという。これは彼女のレベルが上がったためだという人もいるが、私は彼女の罰を見た忍びが、わざと彼女の餌になるために飛び込んでくるからだろうと思う。
